Juno Beach Centre Professional Development Tour for Educators

Picture
The Juno Beach Centre held its 8th Annual Professional Development Tour for Educators from August 5 to August 14, 2012. The Juno Beach Centre is Canada's only World War II Memorial and Education Centre in Europe. The museum is located in Courselles-sur-Mer, Normandy, France.

This program is aimed at all educators, but especially at secondary school level Canadian history teachers, interested in preparing themselves for Remembrance Day ceremonies, going on a guided educational history tour to France, visiting museums or even looking for teaching and learning resources about Canada's contributions to World War II.  The Juno Beach Centre offers all of this and much much more!

"The Juno Beach Centre in Normandy, France stands as a permanent memorial for all Canadians who served our Nation during the Second World War. It also serves as an education centre telling Canada’s story from 1939 to 1945 and  provides visitors a glimpse into contemporary Canada as well. We invite all educators to discover the Juno Beach Centre and to use its educational content, to support and to complement their classroom history programs. To this end, we have developed an annual professional development program for Canadian educators and we offer educational activities - led by young Canadian guides - for school groups from all over the world." (Juno Beach Centre)

If you are interested in receiving further information, please contact either the Non-profit Association in Canada or the museum in France directly.  They would be more than happy to assist you with your educational needs.  Now...onto the tour.
